Job summary

A First Name Basis (AFNB) is an in‑home care provider focused on compassionate caregiver onboarding and strong care quality. The Onboarding Associate will own caregiver orientation from hire to clearance and provide front‑office support when not onboarding.

The role involves greeting candidates, conducting interviews, administering screenings, processing required paperwork, and coordinating initial caregiver scheduling with Care Managers.

Responsibilities

• Sit at the front of the office and greet every scheduled caregiver warmly and professionally.
• Confirm completion of pre‑arrival items and help candidates finish anything outstanding.
• Conduct in‑person interviews and administer drug tests.
• Complete the onboarding process, including drug screening, background checks, and training.
• Complete and verify onboarding paperwork, digital forms, and required signatures.
• Review required compliance items and identify anything missing.
• Deliver a robust orientation presentation and training for new caregivers.
• Ensure caregivers understand company policies, procedures, expectations, and scheduling processes.
• Assess each candidate in person and flag concerns to the recruiting team.
• Introduce new caregivers to the on‑site Care Management team.
• Track onboarding status from hire through clearance and coordinate initial schedules.
• Follow up on incomplete onboarding requirements and ensure readiness to be scheduled.
• Follow up with new caregivers during their first week and transition them to Care Manager for ongoing support.
• Answer incoming office calls and route calls appropriately.
• Assist with caregiver recruiting calls, scheduling interviews/orientations, and orientation scheduling.
• Assist with caregiver staffing, walk‑ins and telephonic visits.
• Make reminder calls/texts to orientation attendees.
• Help maintain office organization and onboarding materials.
• Other office administration duties as assigned.
