The Caregiver for Memory Care supports our mission and values by assisting residents with personal care such as dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, and ambulation to encourage independence, according to resident service plan and established procedures.

What will I do as a Caregiver?

• Assist or supervise residents with personal care in a way that supports the highest level of independence.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to supervisor and/or Assistant Director of Nursing.
• Provide timely, accurate documentation for individual service plans, medication records, and activity records.
• Supervise self-administration or administer medications per physician order.
• Assist with daily housekeeping chores to maintain a clean, safe environment. Sort Do resident laundry.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving and cleaning of kitchen and dining room.
• Plan, conduct and support leisure activities as identified on individualized service plans.
  
  

What is required in this position?

• Experience in a caregiving role required.
• CBRF and First Aid certification and fire safety training preferred or will be provided.
• CNA certification preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid certification within 6 months of hire or within 2 years of your initial CBRF First Aid & Choking certification class. AHA First Aid certification is valid for 2 years and then must be renewed.
• Required to become med delegated upon hire and be able to pass meds.
• Able to walk or stand constantly; squat, kneel, twist and bend frequently. Able to lift, push/pull objects weighing 60 pounds frequently.
• Read, write and speak English fluently. Handle hostile or emotionally upset residents, staff, etc. Able to work independently and make decisions within set guidelines.
