Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of NWI is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our team. You will work one-on-one with seniors in their homes, providing non-medical services to enhance quality of life with empathy, excellence and integrity.

This position offers full or part-time options, flexible schedules, and opportunities for advancement. No healthcare certification is required, but CNA/HHA or 6+ months of geriatric care are preferred.

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification required; CNA/HHA or 6+ months caring for seniors preferred
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 25 lbs and assist with daily activities
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Provide social companionship and companionship-based care to clients
• Assist with activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, dressing, hygiene)
• Transportation to appointments and errands
• Light housekeeping, meal prep and laundry as needed
• Ensure safety and comfort of clients in their homes

Responsibilities

With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Social companionship
• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation
• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
• Standby assistance with transfers
• Overnight safety assistance

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
• Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
• Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
