Job summary

HomeWell Care Services IN219 in Merrillville, IN is seeking compassionate CAREGivers for flexible, in-home care. You will work one-on-one with seniors, assisting with daily living tasks and companionship.

No healthcare certification is required, but CNA/HHA or relevant caregiving experience is preferred. Training is provided, and there are opportunities for advancement with a fast-track hiring process.

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or similar caregiving experience is preferred.
• Experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care is a plus.
• Must have daily access to email, Internet, and a mobile phone.
• Pass a criminal background check (national and state-required).
• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test.
• Must be physically able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel up to 15 miles for shifts.
• Compassionate, mature, caring, punctual and reliable.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Social companionship


• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation


• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings


• Standby assistance with transfers


• Overnight safety assistance

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred


• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus


• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone


• Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)


• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test


• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance


• Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
