Job summary

Senior Helpers of Northwest Indiana is seeking compassionate caregivers to support seniors in their homes. The role focuses on companionship, daily living assistance, and respectful client interaction.

You will provide personal care, assist with ADLs, and help clients engage in activities they enjoy, while maintaining open communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• CNA/HHA or at least 6 months relevant adult caregiver experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current car insurance.
• Own vehicle.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain open communication with seniors, their families, and our staff.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting; ambulation and transfer assistance as needed.
• Companionship and meaningful engagement with clients.
• Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as assigned.

What caregivers provide for their clients:

• Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships
• Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies (scrap booking, gardening, games, etc.)
• Prep meals for your clients to enjoy
• Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other daily activities of living
• Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior
