Job summary

The Children’s Institute is seeking a Parent Partner BHW to support clinical engagement, system navigation, and family stabilization across Behavioral Health and Wellness programs. You will act as a liaison for caregivers involved with child-serving systems, build trust, reduce stigma, and promote caregiver participation in mental health and related services.

Expect to travel extensively (>50% of the time) and work in a bilingual environment where Spanish & English are preferred or required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Lived experience caregiving within child-serving systems.
• Minimum one year supporting families through child-serving systems.

Responsibilities

• Serves as peer mentor and advocate to caregivers of children in BHW services.
• Uses lived experience to engage families and increase caregiver participation.
• Guides families through DCFS, DMH, Regional Center, and school supports, with trauma-informed care.
• Provides referrals and warm handoffs to community resources.
• Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and care coordination.
• Maintains case notes and documents outreach per program standards.
• Encourages caregiver participation in support groups and psychoeducational activities.
