Job summary

South Coast Community Services is seeking a Parent Partner/Peer Specialist (Spanish Preferred) to provide support and resources to parents/caregivers, promoting successful home placement. The role emphasizes strength-based approaches, family voice and choice, and collaboration with caregivers to engage them in the treatment process.

The successful candidate partners with caregivers to ensure engagement, safety and placement stability, offering coaching and resources as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Demonstrate crisis management skills.
• Ability to stay organized and handle multiple tasks.
• Able to establish rapport with parents/caregivers.
• Knowledge of parenting techniques and child welfare.
• Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Listen to and assess the parents’ needs and provide relevant interventions, resources and support.
• Serve as support person and advocate for parents during Children and Family Team meetings.
• Ensure sensitivity to family culture and operate from a family-centered, strength-based perspective.
• Maintain proficient and accurate documentation adhering to program standards.
• Collaborate with the client’s multidisciplinary team to develop and execute the treatment plan.
• Develop knowledge of community resources to support families.
• Perform other related duties as required.
