Job summary

Children's Institute, Inc. seeks a Parent Partner BHW to support clinical engagement and family stabilization across programs. You will act as a liaison for caregivers, leveraging lived experience to improve access and participation in treatment plans.

Responsibilities include guiding families through multiple systems, providing referrals, and participating in care coordination while maintaining case notes and promoting engagement in groups and workshops.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Lived caregiving experience within mental health or child-serving systems.
• Minimum one year supporting families in related settings.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation or travel flexibility.
• Bilingual Spanish & English preferred or required depending on program needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as peer mentor and advocate to caregivers of children in BHW services.
• Use lived experience to build rapport and increase caregiver engagement.
• Guide families through DCFS, DMH, Regional Center, and school supports with trauma-informed care.
• Provide referrals and warm handoffs to community resources.
• Participate in meetings and maintain case notes and documentation.
• Encourage caregiver participation in support groups and psychoeducational activities.
• Support crisis de-escalation under clinical guidance.
