Job summary

Pineview Cottage in Northern Michigan is seeking a full-time compassionate caregiver to join our growing team on the 3rd shift. The right candidate will have a can-do attitude, friendly demeanor, and provide multiple levels of support to our clients.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work in a one-on-one setting and continuously learn new skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle mobility tasks as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation daily.
• Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care preferred (min 1 year).
• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA/HHA experience or CNA program a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance including showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
• Help clients take prescribed medications and assist with ambulation.
• Assist with mobility around the house and accompanying to appointments or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals and assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete client shopping or accompany for shopping; perform housekeeping duties.
• Report unusual incidents and respond quickly in emergencies.
• Offer activities essential for daily living and assist with meals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
• Take pride in providing high quality care
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
