Job summary

Pineview Cottage in Northern Michigan's premier assisted living community is hiring a full-time compassionate caregiver for 3rd shift. The ideal candidate will provide multiple levels of support to our clients with a can-do attitude and a friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities include personal hygiene assistance, medication support, mobility help, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and reporting emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience providing personal hygiene and daily living support.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist mobility.
• Minimum 1 year healthcare/in-home care experience.
• Willing to work nights and weekends with flexible shifts.
• CNA/HHA training or equivalent education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly clients or those recovering from surgeries.
• Assist with medications and ambulation.
• Support mobility to doctor appointments and walks.
• Plan and prepare meals and assist with daily living tasks.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete shopping or accompany clients to shops.
• Perform housekeeping duties and report incidents.
• Enforce health and safety standards and respond to emergencies.

Benefits

• $24 an hour starting pay

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
• Take pride in providing high quality care
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
