Job summary

Magnolia Place in Bakersfield, CA seeks a compassionate caregiver to assist residents with daily living activities and uphold their rights. You will support bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, and housekeeping, while aiding in activity participation and ensuring a safe environment.

Candidates should be able to read care plans, pass background checks, and hold CPR/First Aid certification. This role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be drug-free and submit to urinary analysis drug screening upon hire and routinely.
• Must pass Criminal Background Check and Health Screening including TB test.
• Must be eighteen (18) years old.
• Maintains current CPR and first aid certification.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret care plans.
• Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
• Maintain the integrity of Fields Senior Living.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADL tasks per service plans, including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, meals, housekeeping, bedmaking and laundry.
• Observe and uphold resident rights and provide emotional support.
• Support residents with behavioral issues and assist other staff as needed.
• Assist residents to meals and activities, encouraging participation.
• Ensure safety and report changes in resident condition promptly.
• Contribute to development and revision of Service Plans by communicating resident needs.
• Answer calls immediately and maintain knowledge of the community call system.
• Attend required in-services/workshops to further skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assisting residents with ADL tasks as indicated in their service plans. This includes but not limited to: assisting withbathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, servingandassisting withmeals, feeding,housekeeping,bedmaking,andlaundry
• Always observe and uphold resident rights
• Positively supports residents with emotional and behavioral issues

• Supports resident activity participation by assisting residents to/from activities, encouraging participation, and leading activities when asked.
• Must be willing to work with staff from all departments to ensure quality of careforresidents
• Keepenvironment safeandcleanforresidents;performing housekeeping duties as indicate don cleaning schedule or assignment sheets.
• Observe residents for safety and report any and all changes in resident conditioneffectively,accurately,andinatimelymannertoLNonduty
• Assist in development and revision of Service Plans by informing supervisor of current resident needs and preferences as well as successful service approaches.
• Answers all resident pendant/pull cords immediately.
• Carryandpossessaworkingknowledgeofcommunitycall/communication system
• All other duties as assigned.
