Job summary

Greenbrier Senior Living is seeking caring and dependable individuals for the Caregiver role at Monarch Place in Alabama. You will provide hands-on support to residents to help them live safely, comfortably, and with dignity every day.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, observing for changes, documenting care, and supporting residents in activities. The role emphasizes empathy, teamwork, and strong communication within a caring community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a State-approved Nursing Assistant Training Program if required by state regulations.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• CPR and First Aid certification if required.
• A compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, and assisting residents with mobility and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Follow each resident's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and provide personalized care.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and mobility.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nursing supervisor.
• Document daily care, observations, and resident status during each shift.
• Record vital signs, weights, and other information as assigned.
• Assist with restorative care techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Provide encouragement, redirection, cues, and emotional support to residents.
• Encourage participation in activities and community events.
• Escort residents and assist with transfers and ambulation.
• Respond promptly to call systems and emergency requests.
• Support resident care and community operations as needed.

What You'll Do

• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and other information as assigned and permitted by state regulations.
• Assist with restorative care techniques, including proper positioning, ADL support, and passive range of motion exercises.
• Provide encouragement, redirection, cues, and emotional support to residents as needed.
• Encourage and assist residents in participating in activities and community events.
• Safely assist with transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Escort residents throughout the community and accompany them to appointments when needed.
• Respond promptly to resident call systems and emergency requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and the community.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a State-approved Nursing Assistant Training Program if required by state regulations.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
