Job summary

Career Systems Development Corporation in Limestone, ME seeks a Career Transition Specialist to counsel students on transition readiness, job search, placement, and exit processes.

You will identify students no longer employed or in school and reconnect them with placement opportunities, school, or continued services. Responsibilities include conducting interviews and building external-resource links to support successful transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field.
• Or Associates Degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience.
• Preferred: Minimum plus previous Job Corps experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews students entering Career Transition Phase and provides re-orientation on job search techniques.
• Maintains a caseload and contact cadence (every 30 days by phone) to monitor progress.
• Attends meetings on Career Transition issues and coordinates related activities.
• Visits classrooms and trade shops to explain Career Transition processes and opportunities.
• Coordinates mock interview sessions and assists in organizing job fairs and career days.
