Job summary

ServingSchools in Limestone, ME is seeking a Career Transition Specialist to counsel students through career transition readiness, job search skills, and placement issues. Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field.
• Associates degree with two years related experience.
• Knowledge of case management, career counseling, employment counseling and job search techniques.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students on career transition readiness and job search skills.
• Maintain caseloads and establish regular contact with students.
• Visit classrooms and shops to explain transition processes and opportunities.
• Coordinate mock interviews and assist with job fairs and career days.
• Maintain linkages with military services and external resources for job leads and support services.
• Ensure licenses, certificates, transcripts, and documents needed for job search are obtained.
• Identify relocation support needs and develop a resource center for services.
• Chair the Career Assessment Panel and provide required reports.
• Coordinate with Social Development Department and Mental Health Consultant as needed.
• If a placement is lost, intensify contact and arrange new interview opportunities.
