Job summary

Career Systems Development Corporation is seeking a Career Transition Specialist to counsel students through career transition readiness, job search skills, placement, and retention. You will manage a caseload, maintain regular contact, and coordinate mock interviews and career events.

The role involves classroom visits, collaboration with external resources, and building a resource center to support students through exit processes and re-engagement with education or employment pathways.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications) or Associates degree with two years related experience.
• Preferred: Job Corps experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of case management, career counseling and job development techniques; ability to communicate with culturally diverse youth; CPR/FA certification; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students in career transition readiness, job search skills, placement and job retention.
• Maintain a caseload and contact students at least every 30 days by telephone.
• Attend meetings and visit classrooms to explain Career Transition processes and resources.
• Coordinate mock interviews, job fairs and career days; develop linkages with external resources and job banks.
• Perform job development by screening leads and arranging interviews; ensure documents aiding job search are obtained.
