Job summary

Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries is seeking a Training Specialist to provide instruction to program participants and community partners. The role covers in-person and virtual sessions across Goodwill’s service area, focusing on employability skills, financial literacy, and computer training.

The position requires 2+ years of teaching experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt delivery methods to participant needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year work experience in a customer service industry.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience providing instruction or training.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of people.
• All individuals must pass a drug screen and background checks; driving record may be checked.
• Must have reliable, personal transportation and travel to stores and sites as needed.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• English language required; Spanish language skills preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the general goals and objectives of Heart of Texas Goodwill.
• Administer assessments to determine skill levels and needs.
• Provide training through class instruction or one-on-one guidance in several topics.
• Conduct classes and one-on-one instruction online or in-person as required.
• Create a learning environment that encourages positivity, creativity, and respect.
• Assist in curriculum development and modification.
• Train participants to operate computers and office equipment.
• Report participant progress using Salesforce or designated spreadsheets.
• Travel to required locations for training schedules and partner sites.
• Represent the company in the community in a professional manner.
