Job summary

Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries is seeking a Training Specialist to deliver instructional sessions for participants and collaborate with community partners. The role involves in-person and virtual training across Goodwill’s service territory, guided by Mission Services management.

The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year work experience in a customer service industry/position preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience providing instruction, training or similar job duties preferred.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of people.
• All individuals must pass a drug screen; background check may be required; valid driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide training via class instruction or one-on-one guidance in topics such as employability skills, financial literacy, soft skills, and computer training.
• Administer assessments to determine skill levels and connect with community resources.
• Conduct in-person or virtual training sessions as designated by Mission Services.
• Create a positive, creative learning environment and assist in curriculum development.
• Report participant progress and maintain confidential files and records.
• Assist participants with resumes, job applications, and online job searches.
• Travel to training locations as required by Mission Services.
