Job summary

SER National is seeking an Employment Counselor in West Allis, WI to interview, assess, and counsel eligible applicants. You will develop individualized employment plans, solicit work opportunities, and refer participants to training and employment experiences.

The role is full-time, in-person, with extensive case management responsibilities. Responsibilities include following federal and state regulations, maintaining records, coordinating with employers, and supporting veterans when

Qualifications

• Associates degree or BA/BS in social work or related field is required or substitutable.
• Knowledge of the Older Americans Act and WIOA.
• Experience with SCSEP program at state or national level.
• Familiarity with federal, state, local regulations affecting employment and training practices.
• Knowledge of social services, counseling, career planning, and placement practices.
• Proficiency with GPMS and other automated reporting systems.
• Excellent oral and written communications; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview and counsel eligible applicants to assess employment goals.
• Develop individualized employment plans for participants.
• Refer participants to training, on-the-job experiences and employment.
• Maintain a large caseload of applicants and participants.
• Prepare reports and program plans; follow regulations and guidelines.
