SER National, Inc. is seeking a full-time in-person Employment Counselor to interview, assess and counsel eligible applicants, develop individualized employment plans, and coordinate training and job opportunities with employers.

The role requires knowledge of employment programs, strong counseling skills, and the ability to manage a large caseload with attention to federal and state regulations. Travel and driving are required; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or BA/BS in social work or related field.
• Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
• Knowledge of Older Americans Act and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
• Experience with SCSEP programs at state or national level.

Responsabilités

• Interview and counsel eligible applicants; develop individualized employment plans.
• Solicit employment and work training opportunities from prospective employers.
• Refer participants for training, on-the-job experience and employment.
• Maintain extensive case records and perform data entry tasks.
• Apply case management techniques and follow up with participants and employers.
• Understand hiring trends and practices for placement activities.
• Research resources for military veterans as required.
• Update community resources to remove employment barriers.
• Schedule interviews and manage participant timelines.
• Prepare reports, plans and agreements; interpret regulations.
• Coordinate with agencies; maintain cooperative relationships.
• Plan and travel to meet employers and participants; ensure travel needs.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally; bilingual ability preferred.
