Job summary

Westhab Inc. in Bronx, NY is seeking an Employment Specialist to help participants obtain permanent employment through individualized case management and job readiness training.

You will create employment plans, assist with resumes, and connect clients to supportive services, while tracking progress and outcomes. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), strong communication and organizational skills, and availability for evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; two years’ experience in casework or employment programs, or an Associate degree with four years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and recruits eligible participants for program populations.
• Conducts assessments of education, work experience, skills, and qualifications.
• Develops Individual Employment Plans for participants.
• Evaluates progress and documents achievements.
• Provides intensive employment case management and links to supportive services.
• Assists with resume creation and interview attire/transportation arrangements.
• Plans and facilitates job search and readiness training sessions.
• Works with participants to overcome barriers to employability and matches to job opportunities.
• Provides post-employment support to promote long-term retention.
• Maintains records and generates weekly/monthly program reports.
• Collaborates with housing staff to place residents in housing programs where appropriate.
