The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (bachelor's degree preferred), a valid NYS driver's license with reliable transportation, and at least one year of experience working with IDD

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and a reliable car.
• One year experience with IDD population.
• Ability to work with employers, families, interdepartmental staff, other community and corporate contacts.
• Flexible, reliable, and takes initiative.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement employment opportunities using person-centered planning.
• Develop job opportunities through job development for group and individual employment.
• Build relationships with families, employers, and regulatory entities to support the required services.
• Ensure employment opportunities meet Department of Labor regulations.
• Maintain and secure consumer records with all required information.
• Provide travel, training, and job coaching as needed.
• Refer individuals to prospective employers and accompany them to interviews.
• Carry a caseload and complete required documentation and database entries.
