Job summary

HELP USA in New York seeks a Senior Employment Specialist to help clients obtain permanent, unsubsidized employment. You will work with Case Managers to assess client histories and develop employment plans integrated into service plans.

You will supervise four Employment Specialists, deliver the Job Readiness curriculum, guide workshops on resume writing, interviews, and benefits, and connect clients with training and government resources to secure placements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong public speaking ability.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise four Employment Specialists and maintain the Job Readiness curriculum and classroom.
• Ensure that accurate and up to date information and documents are maintained and that data is input in the AWARDS system.
• Provide new clients with an overview of HELP USA’s employment program philosophy and services at orientation sessions and/or intake meetings.
• Utilize HELP USA’s Job Readiness Curriculum to facilitate education and employment readiness workshops including resume writing and interview preparation.
• Facilitate workshops on benefits, tax credits changes, and welfare-to-work information.
• Provide educational and vocational counseling for clients, individually and in groups.
• Refer clients to HELP USA’s employment programs and other training and government offices to facilitate job placement.
• Maintain a network of government, training, and placement resources and contacts.
