Job summary

Urban Street Angels, Inc. in San Diego seeks a Career Services Specialist to support transition-age youth (TAY) in achieving housing stability through income development.

You will focus on employment readiness, trade programs, and job placement while coordinating with care teams to ensure progress across phases of the program model. Responsibilities include engaging youth in career pathways, coaching, and building employer partnerships, with a heavy emphasis on sustained, trauma-informed,

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in employment services, job development, job coaching, or supported employment.
• Experience with vulnerable populations, including homelessness, mental health, or substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of Housing First, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing.
• Strong knowledge of local job resources, homelessness systems, public benefits, and community resources.
• Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid California Driver’s License and ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Background check via Live Scan required.

Responsibilities

• Engage youth in career conversations and trades opportunities.
• Motivate and support enrollment in trade programs or workforce pathways.
• Conduct individualized assessments focusing on interests and career goals.
• Develop and maintain Employment Plans with measurable goals.
• Provide 1:1 coaching on resumes, interviews, and job search strategies.
• Deliver group workshops for employment readiness and trade pathways.
• Build partnerships with employers across San Diego’s trades.
