Job summary

Tallahassee State College is hiring a Career Development Specialist – P10025 at the Okeechobee Correctional Institution in Okeechobee, FL. This full-time, grant-funded role focuses on delivering the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program and related services to eligible participants under the direction of the Lead Educator.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s Degree or a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience and is proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or high school diploma with two years’ professional experience in workforce development, social services or corrections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret assessments.
• Deliver the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum.
• Deliver other programs as directed by the Department.
• Maintain and document services delivered.
• Report monthly attendance, enrollments, and completions on the Department’s DC5-149 form.
• Support pre-release employment navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through in-person and technology-based interactions.
