Job summary

Avivo is seeking a Career Counselor in Minneapolis, MN to support career exploration, job search assistance, and retention services for participants in Avivo Employment Services. The role focuses on developing employer partnerships and coordinating services with local businesses to help clients secure and maintain employment.

The position works 32 hours per week with a full benefits package, including health, dental, HSA, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• With a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role is required.
• If associate degree in human services or related field, a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
• If bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, no additional experience is required. Partial credit will be given for an internship with an applicable BA completed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and review all required documentation and determine participant eligibility.
• Complete comprehensive needs assessment on all individuals referred with respect to contract policies and guidelines.
• Develop individual employment plans and assist participants in accessing public and private resources to meet goals.
• Provide intensive case management and advocacy for participants and their families.
• Help participants develop and strengthen work behaviors and employability.
