Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a Career Coach to support undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences. The role focuses on self‑exploration, understanding career options, and experiential learning opportunities to prepare students for post‑graduation paths.

The Career Coach will conduct 1‑1 coaching, deliver classroom and student organization sessions, and teach an elective course in career development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience with students in educational support, counseling, mentoring, or related settings; or two years in recruitment/talent acquisition with 1:1 interaction.
  • Experience with public speaking.
  • Ability to learn and translate extensive career information, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated organization, time management, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and self-manage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one career coaching to undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Lead classroom and student organization presentations on career development and experiential learning.
  • Teach an elective career development/experiential learning course.
  • Help students articulate skills and qualifications in resumes, cover letters, and interviews, and through networking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and alumni.
