Aurora Community Services in Chippewa Falls, WI seeks a Career and Independent Living Transition Coordinator to support students with disabilities, focusing on social, community and vocational readiness. You will plan daily activities, guide staff, and promote independent living skills while maintaining a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Ability to build effective relationships with families and students.
• Experience developing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Proven ability to maintain a safe, studious classroom environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Willingness to travel within Chippewa and Eau Claire counties.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum/activities to meet developmental goals and instructional activities
• Prepare lesson plans and structure daily routine for students
• Direct Para-Professionals in classroom with daily/weekly job tasks
• Allocate 90% of time with students teaching daily-life skills
• Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
• Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis, providing progress reports as required
• Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with program policies
• Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines
• Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom/school campus
• Perform other duties as assigned with Vocational and Day Services when school is not in session
