Job summary

Aurora is seeking passionate individuals for our educational programs serving students with disabilities in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The role focuses on curriculum development, lesson planning, and guiding para-professionals to support daily living skills.

Responsibilities include maintaining safe, respectful classrooms, communicating with families and staff, and tracking student progress with regular reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Ability to build effective/professional relationships with families and students.
  • Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum/activities to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
  • Prepare lesson plans and structure daily routine for students.
  • Direct Para-Professionals in classroom with daily/weekly job tasks.
  • Allocate 90% of time with students teaching daily-life skills.
  • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
  • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis, providing progress reports as required.
  • Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with program policies.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines.
  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom/school campus.
  • Ensure safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned with Vocational and Day Services when school is not in session.
