Job summary

Aurora Community Services is seeking an Employment Coordinator for the Cardinal Transitional Academy in Chippewa County. You will develop curriculum and activities, structure daily routines, and supervise para-professionals while focusing on social, community, and vocational readiness for students.

The role emphasizes safe classroom management, strong communication with families and staff, and tracking student progress with regular reports.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Ability to build effective/professional relationships with families and students.
• Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment.
• Highly developed oral/written communication.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum/activities to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
• Prepare lesson plans and structure daily routine for students.
• Direct Para-Professionals in classroom with daily/weekly job tasks.
• Allocate 90% of time with students teaching daily-life skills.
• Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
• Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis, providing progress reports as required.
• Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with program policies.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines.
• Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom/school campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned with Vocational and Day Services when school is not in session
