National Louis University in Chicago seeks a Career Advisor to support students and alumni in achieving career readiness through advising, resources, and programming across exploration, skill development, job search strategies, and graduate planning.

The role collaborates with faculty, staff, employers, and alumni to connect learners with opportunities, while embedding equity and inclusive practices to ensure all students are prepared for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred in higher education, counseling, career development or related field.
• 3+ years in university career services, workforce development, or related field.
• Knowledge of career services databases (Symplicity, Handshake, CSO, eRecruiting) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Advanced use of LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms for student advising and employer engagement.

Responsabilités

• Advises students on career path exploration, internship/job search strategies, and helps identify goals.
• Develops outreach strategies to engage students, focusing on high-need populations, and promotes milestones with faculty and success coaches.
• Collaborates with Employer Relations Managers to nurture employer relationships and connect students to opportunities.
• Designs and facilitates data-informed programming including workshops, webinars, and classroom visits to build career readiness.
• Attends Career Bridge events like job fairs and networking programs.
• Tracks and reports student career readiness milestones and employment outcomes in coordination with Career Development and Career Bridge.
