Job summary

Oak Street Health in Philadelphia is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will collect patient data, take vitals, perform screenings, and support clinical decisions in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Daily tasks include rooming patients, assisting with vaccinations and point-of-care testing, updating the EMR, and coordinating with clinicians. CPR/BLS certification and EMR experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience employed as a medical assistant (non-externship).
• Active CPR or BLS certification.
• Hands-on patient experience with taking vitals, administering diagnostic testing, and immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Room patients in a timely manner and complete vital signs, required screenings and medication reviews.
• Stock exam rooms and manage inventory of supplies.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, faxing records).
• In accordance with state regulations, administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests (e.g., A1C, spirometry, EKGs, phlebotomy).
• Update Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and upload required documents.
• Participate in daily care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
