Job summary

OU Medicine is seeking a Care Team Associate (CTA) for the Cardiovascular Unit. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will perform routine patient-care tasks, monitor health status, and help implement the care plan.

You will take vital signs, monitor telemetry, collect specimens, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers. No prior experience is required, but you must have a current BLS certification and qualify as CPCT/PCTC/AUA.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association required.
• Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) OR Patient Care Technician (PCTC) OR Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, monitor patient health status and execute care plans.
• Record vital signs and perform basic measurements (BP, temperature, pulse, weight).
• Perform sterile procedures and assist with wounds, drains, suctioning.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers; transport patients as needed.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and restock supplies.
• Provide care as a safety attendant when assigned to a single patient.

Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.Under general supervision of the RN and in collaboration with the patient and family, systematically and continually monitors the patient’s health status and implements the plan of care.Carries out physician and nursing orders as directed by the RN that is within scope.Takes/records blood pressures , temperatures , pulse and weighs patients.Performs blood glucose monitoring.Sets up and discontinues telemetry monitor .Collects specimens as directed.Applies sterile dressings, removal of sutures, staples and/or drains.
