Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Care Coordinator to manage patient intake, insurance verification, and scheduling in a high-volume medical clinic. You will support pediatrics, urgent care, adult care, and radiology while collaborating with physicians, pharmacies, and labs.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, technology use, and guiding patients through in-person and telehealth visits. EMR experience (E Clinical Works) is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent medical office experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting.
• BLS certification and/or CPR certification.
• Proficiency in medical terminology in a clinical environment.
• Pharmacy knowledge to support prescription requests and patient education.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably E Clinical Works.
• Strong computer and multi-system navigation skills.
• Experience with insurance verification and scheduling.
• Excellent phone etiquette for high-volume calls.
• Strong communication with patients, providers, pharmacies and laboratories.
• Attention to detail in data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake and update patient information accurately.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to visits and procedures.
• Schedule high volumes of patient appointments in a multi-person team.
• Route prescription refill requests using EMR refill tools.
• Communicate with patients via portal messages and telehealth.
• Document patient information in the EMR system promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate physician schedules and monthly appointment planning.
• Assist with orders, prescriptions, and follow-up care with providers and pharmacies.
