Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Care Navigator/Administrator for a part-time permanent role at Path House Medical Practice, Kirkcaldy. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling high volumes of calls and guiding them to the right care and staff.

The role emphasizes empathy, confidentiality and professionalism in a busy clinical setting. The 25- or 30-hour weekly shifts run Monday to Friday with afternoon or morning blocks.

Qualifications

• Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
• Empathy, professionalism and discretion in a busy healthcare setting.
• Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to learn and use clinical software and GP systems.

Responsibilities

• Answering and managing incoming patient calls.
• Booking, rearranging and cancelling appointments by phone using clinical software.
• Greeting and booking in patients at reception.
• Directing patients to the appropriate clinician or service.
• Processing repeat prescription requests.
