Job summary

Colonial Vista Community Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced cook to support dietary services in a hospital/long-term care setting. You will prepare meals in large quantities, follow portion controls, and ensure special diets are accurately produced for residents.

You will maintain sanitary kitchen areas, record temperatures, assist with meal service, and participate in staff training and cross-department collaboration to ensure high resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes; communicate with managers and staff.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to cook measurements.
• Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems in a kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking areas in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner.
• Prepare a variety of flavorful meals in large quantities while following portion control guidelines.
• Accurately prepare special diets as required.
• Record food temperatures for all meals.
• Prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and ensuring resident satisfaction.
• Report resident care concerns and potential issues to the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing.
