Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. The role focuses on assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe clinical environment, and effective team communication.

Preferred qualifications include 0–2 years of acute care experience or active nursing studies; BCLS within 90 days of hire; CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic patient care and maintain a safe environment.
• Record patient data such as vital signs and intake/output; report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support meals, bathing, grooming, and elimination assistance.
• Aid mobility and positioning using walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform blood glucose monitoring; document results.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and maintain professionalism.
• Adhere to infection control and PPE protocols; maintain a clean environment.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and risk management.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
