Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient condition, collect samples, and communicate with the care team.

Responsibilities include helping with meals, mobility, hygiene, vital signs, and documentation while following infection control and safety protocols. BCLS within 90 days is required; CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred or upcoming training may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Collect and record patient data (vital signs, height, weight, oxygen saturation, intake/output) and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Document blood glucose via finger sticks and report results to the care team.
• Maintain infection control practices and proper PPE usage.
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management initiatives.
