Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and mobility, while maintaining a safe, organized care environment.

You will report to RN/LPN/LVN and collaborate with the healthcare team, following infection control protocols and patient confidentiality requirements. BCLS within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in acute care or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) within 90 days of hire required.
• CPCT or CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering basic patient care and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Record and report vital signs and patient data to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support meals, bathing, grooming, mobility, and elimination needs for patients.
• Assist with positioning, transfers, and use of mobility aids as directed.
• Collect samples and monitor glucose per protocol and report results.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team and follow safety protocols.
