Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring Patient Dining Associates (Dietary Aide) in Lufkin, TX. Roles include assisting patients with menu selections, delivering meals, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in service.

We offer both full-time and part-time schedules with online applications accepted only. Experience in patient dining is preferred; ability to lift up to 100 pounds and handle dietary needs is important.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with their nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection and retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO; adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts as needed.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
