Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy, part of Confluent Health, is hiring a Full Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our team in Mesa, AZ. You will be the welcoming voice and face for patients, managing check-in/out, scheduling, insurance verification, and phone inquiries in a fast-paced clinic.

Your role emphasizes patient privacy, HIPAA compliance, and accurate payment collection, with training provided on EMR navigation and scheduling workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone
• Basic computer proficiency: comfortable learning new systems
• No prior medical experience required — we provide comprehensive training including EMR navigation, insurance fundamentals, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls
• Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps
• Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation
