Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Referral Specialist to help coordinate patient access to specialty care services. You will work with providers, clinical teams, and insurance companies to process referrals, obtain prior authorizations, and connect patients with appropriate care in a timely manner.

The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience in referrals, scheduling, insurance or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals for specialty care accurately and efficiently.
• Obtain and manage prior authorizations from insurance companies.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling between patients, providers and clinics.
• Communicate referral status and next steps to patients.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for referred services.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and referral queues.
