AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and eligibility while moving the intake process forward smoothly.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in Healthcare Admin or related field required.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred but not required.
• Experience in healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare-certified environment is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office and healthcare systems are a plus.
• Comfort learning new technologies and navigating multiple systems.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and directives.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and medical records to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibilities and document interactions.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Navigate payer requirements to ensure services are set up appropriately.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity standards.
• Work with leadership to ensure inventory and services are scheduled.
• Collaborate with sales, insurance verification, and internal support teams to facilitate referrals.
• Support team operations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
