Job summary

WakeMed in Cary, NC is seeking a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to join the Cardiovascular Testing team. You will perform cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies across ambulatory locations, producing high-quality diagnostic images and supporting accurate diagnoses.

Collaborate with physicians and staff, maintain safety and infection control, and document findings in the EMR. RDCS/RVT or RCS/RVS credentials and 1 year of ultrasound experience required, with a commitment to compassionate

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound or Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound program, or Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Sonography.
• Minimum of one year of clinical ultrasound experience.
• Credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
• Skilled in performing both cardiac and vascular imaging studies while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and infection control.

• Monitor image quality throughout studies, making appropriate adjustments to ensure accurate and complete diagnostic results.
• Provide safe, compassionate patient care by supporting patient comfort, safety, and understanding throughout the examination process.
• Accurately document diagnostic findings and enter required information into the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
