Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to join the Cardiovascular Testing team in Cary. The role involves performing high-quality cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations across ambulatory locations, with a focus on accurate diagnoses and compassionate patient care.

The ideal candidate holds RDCS/RVT or RCS/RVS credentials, has at least 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience, and demonstrates teamwork and commitment to safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated cardiovascular care

We're hiring a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our Cardiovascular Testing team. In this role, you'll use state-of-the-art ultrasound technology to evaluate cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology across multiple ambulatory locations. Working closely with physicians and clinical team members, you'll perform high-quality cardiac and vascular imaging studies that support accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care.

What you’ll do

• Perform cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations, producing high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with established protocols and department standards.
• Monitor image quality throughout studies, making appropriate adjustments to ensure accurate and complete diagnostic results.
• Provide safe, compassionate patient care by supporting patient comfort, safety, and understanding throughout the examination process.
• Accurately document diagnostic findings and enter required information into the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Who you’re a

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound or Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound program, or Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Sonography.
• Minimum of one year of clinical ultrasound experience.
• Credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
• Skilled in performing both cardiac and vascular imaging studies while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and infection control.
