Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a Perioperative RN for the Cardiovascular Team to oversee patient care during operative procedures.

You will plan and direct perioperative care, coordinating with surgeons, nurses, and staff to ensure safe outcomes. The role requires 2+ years of cardiovascular or perioperative experience in an acute care setting, RN licensure in Louisiana, BLS, ALS, and the ability to respond within 30 minutes when on call.

Qualifications

• Two years cardiovascular experience preferred in an acute care facility.
• Graduate from a NLN-accredited school of nursing; current LA RN license.
• BLS required or obtained during orientation; ALS required within 6 months of hire.
• ILCOR courses such as AHA/Red Cross with manikin check-off are accepted.
• One year Surgery RN experience required; CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other care team members.
• The Perioperative RN is accountable for planning and directing the care of every patient undergoing operative and invasive procedures.
• The Perioperative RN directs and supervises the surgical team members.
