Job summary

Midwest Cardiovascular Institute is seeking a Cardiovascular Medical Assistant (CMA) to support the nursing team by collecting patient information, vital signs, allergies, medication lists, and medical history. The CMA will assist in obtaining and reviewing medical records for provider visits and communicate concerns to nursing staff or providers.

Under nursing direction, the CMA follows physician orders in the EMR, schedules diagnostic tests, labs, ECGs, and supports patient discharge.

Qualifications

• Current certification from one of the following: CCMA (NHA), RMA (AMT), CMA (AAMA), NRCMA (Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant), NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant), Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing team by collecting essential patient information: chief complaint, medications, allergies, vital signs, and medical history.
• Assist in obtaining and reviewing medical records for provider visits.
• Follow physician orders in the EMR to schedule tests, labs, ECGs, and assist in patient discharge.
