Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technician in Illinois to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in the CV/Cath/EP Lab, with focus on electrophysiology procedures.

The role requires EKG interpretation, RCIS/RCES/IBHRE certification within 24 months, and BLS plus ACLS within 6 months. 36 hours weekly, day shift, on-call for holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• EKG interpretation competency and hemodynamics interpretation.
• Cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab experience preferred.
• Allied health professional experience in cardiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and arrhythmias in the CV/Cath/EP Lab.
• Supports care of patients undergoing PTCA, stent placement, IABP placement, and EP device/ablation procedures.
• Provides mentoring to new staff as experience increases.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a health science program (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing)

RCIS/RCES/IBHRE certification

BLS Certification

ACLS Certification within 6 months of employment
