Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a CV Invasive Specialist II at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO. The role involves procedural support in catheterization labs, patient education, and collaboration with physicians. The position is part-time with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced FT RNs.

Ideal candidates hold RCIS/RCES or equivalent credentials, current BLS/PALS/ACLS, and CME maintenance. Expect procedures requiring imaging, data entry, and meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• PALS or ACLS required within 3 months of start.
• Must be RCIS/RCES/ARRT-CI/ARRT-VI or RN (new RN experience acceptable).
• Maintains at least 12 CME credits per year.
• Surgical Tech/Assistant Certification per state requirements.
• Fluoroscopy Operator Certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of CV Invasive Specialist I.
• Assist in procedure room prep and post-procedure turnaround.
• Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, plus inventory control.
• Educate patients and provide emotional support; foster teamwork with staff and physicians.
• Assess patient condition and inform physician of deviations during procedures.
• Understand x-ray principles and operate imaging equipment safely.
• May mix/ administer medications under physician supervision (RCIS/RCES required).
• Apply closure device, seal sheath, or achieve hemostasis after procedures.
• Document procedures and events accurately.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot CCL equipment; perform point-of-care testing and QA.
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor in diagnostic/interventional/CRM procedures; data entry.
• Know invasive supplies and their indications/applications.
• Prepare for patient status changes and respond to emergencies.
• Orient and train staff; act as preceptor.
• Provide staff education in Skills Day Workshops.
