Wellstar Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Cath Lab Tech for Kennestone in Marietta, GA. The role involves performing cardiovascular cath/EP procedures, scrubbing or circulating as needed, and collaborating with interventional teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• One year cath lab/EP experience may substitute for formal education.
• RCIS/ARRT-CV certifications preferred or related credentials.

Responsibilities

• Complete cardiovascular cath and EP competencies; may function in monitoring, scrubbing, or circulating roles.
• Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and cardiologists.
• Prep and educate the patient for procedures; ensure sterile technique is observed.
• Maintain accurate cath lab records and assist with post-procedure care and documentation.
• Provide patient privacy, comfort, and clear communication using AIDET scripting.

Full-time Cath Lab Tech at Kennestone4 x 10's, 6:15a-5:45pCall is Required: 1 Night/week + 1 Weekend per month

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Clinical Skills- Completion of cardiovascular cath and/or EP competencies- May function in monitoring, scrubbing, or circulating roles- Able to use critical thinking skills- Work in conjunction with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and cardiologists- Preps and educates the patient for procedure- Demonstrates and understands sterile technique
• Quality and Patient Safety- Verifies patient ID using 2 patient identifiers, i.e.. Armband, DOB, verbal identification- Verifies front of patient chart for same/similar name sticker- Verifies Written Order and Consent, seeks clarification if order or consent unclear- Uses and understands preprocedural verification/ time out form- Understands and complies with site/ side marking when indicated
• Job Responsibilities- Must be flexible with hours to meet departmental needs- Able to work scheduled and cath lab On-Call hours- Knows existing lines of communication and authority- Handles communications properly- Introduces self to patient and/or guardian utilizing proper scripting ie. AIDET- Transports patients as needed- Provides privacy and comfort for patient/customers- Assists with maintenance of departmental records, Joint Commission standards, State and Federal Regulations and performance Improvement- Enters data in to cath lab log and verifies accuracy and completeness- Completes necessary paperwork- Answers departmental phone using proper scripting- Maintains stock levels and outdates- Maintain current License and BLS/ACLS certifications- Works as a team with other cath_EP lab staff to obtain the best possible outcome- Performs any other duties as needed when asks by leadership- Prepares necessary supplies and equipment for procedure- Enters appropriate charges for supplies and procedure
• Patient Education- Responsible for patient, family/support system education- Responsible for patient education as it relates to their procedure, including preparing the patient for future procedures and/or transfer to another facility- Provide post procedural home care instructions as needed

Required Minimum Education:

Associate's Degree in Health Science or Related Field Required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

One year of cardiovascular cath/EP lab experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education or of CVT program with RCIS and/or ARRT-CV Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.Registered CVI Specialist-Preferred

Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor

Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 1 year functioning independently in cardiovascular cath/electrophysiology lab may be substituted in lieu of formal education.

2 Years of Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
