Job summary

University of South Florida is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar Research (Finance) to advance cardiovascular bioprinting and regenerative medicine efforts in the Ruberg Cardiovascular 3D Printing & Bio-Innovation Laboratory at USF Health Heart Institute.

The role focuses on leading cell-based research, experimental design, data analysis, and dissemination, while contributing to collaborations and educational activities within a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is required.
Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays.
Experience with stem cell biology, biomaterials, 3D tissue culture, organoids, tissue engineering or bioprinting is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
Proven track record of publications and/or grant contributions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of cell culture, including isolation, expansion, stem cell differentiation, characterization, confocal imaging, and long-term maintenance of cell lines.
Establish and manage a comprehensive laboratory cellular biorepository with documentation and quality control.
Collaborate on biomaterial preparation and optimization, including hydrogel formulation and bioink development for cardiovascular bioprinting.
Operate, optimize, and troubleshoot bioreactor systems and dynamic culture platforms for engineered tissues.
Contribute to experimental design, protocol development, and troubleshooting across projects.
Lead data acquisition, statistical analysis, and interpretation to ensure rigor and reproducibility.
Provide input in manuscript preparation, grant writing, and research proposals.
Mentor graduate students and trainees in techniques and experimental planning.
Support outreach activities, seminars, and public engagement.
Assist with lab operations, inventory, and procurement; maintain biosafety and ethical standards.
Develop SOPs and improve laboratory workflows for efficiency.
